Social Skills Group

This group provides evidence-based social skills training for middle school students, combining Social Thinking® and the PEERS® program. Together, these approaches address both the why and the how of social interaction. Members will learn why it is important to understand social expectations, perspective-taking, and group dynamics (Social Thinking), while also gaining concrete, step-by-step strategies for making and keeping friends, entering conversations, handling teasing, and planning get-togethers (PEERS). Sessions will draw upon these two evidence-based approaches to provide skills and strategies designed for social success. Parents will also have opportunities to learn about these skills and how they can help facilitate their child’s social skill development.

Who:

When: Thursdays at 5:00pm, starting on October 9th, 2025
