Dr. Kendall Catanzaro is a postdoctoral fellow at CBC where she conducts individual, family, and group psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in School Psychology from St. John’s University. Additionally, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Bucknell University.
Kendall has developed expertise in providing evidence-based interventions throughout her training experiences. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Quad Preparatory School Upper School where she worked with twice-exceptional middle-school students, who present with giftedness as well as a learning or other disability. While there, she provided weekly individual psychotherapy for students with a broad range of presenting concerns, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and ADHD. Kendall also provided skills-based coaching to students struggling with emotional dysregulation, behavioral outbursts, and impulsivity.
Prior to her doctoral internship, Kendall completed an externship here at Cognitive Behavioral Consultants (CBC) where she received intensive training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). As an extern, Kendall co-led the Selective Mutism group and a Multi-Family DBT skills group for adolescents and their families. Kendall also completed an externship within the Great Neck school district where she conducted psychoeducational evaluations, provided individual and group counseling, and developed Behavioral Intervention Plans.
Kendall’s doctoral research examined the publication trends and use of single-case design research methodology. Her research highlighted the value of these designs in evaluating individualized interventions for clients. Kendall is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
