Angel is intensively trained in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has extensive training in several evidence-based treatments for anxiety, mood, and behavioral disorders. Angel completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Center for Anxiety, where she conducted individual and group psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults in traditional outpatient models, as well as through intensive outpatient programs. Angel has worked with patients presenting with a range of clinical challenges, including anxiety and mood disorders, OCD, high-risk behaviors, ADHD, and emotion and behavioral dysregulation. Angel also has extensive training and experience working with parents/caregivers of children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with anxiety and behavioral disorders.

Prior to her doctoral internship, Angel received clinical training in a variety of settings including hospital outpatient clinics, community-based clinics, and schools. As a clinical extern at NYU Langone Health’s Child Study Center, Angel delivered evidence-based treatments to children and adolescents with a range of clinical disorders, including providing individual and group DBT to adolescents through their Comprehensive Adolescent DBT program. She also completed training at the Highland Park Community Teen Center, a school-based mental health clinic, where she provided individual and group therapy to children and adolescents. Angel also has intensive training in both diagnostic assessments and psychoeducational evaluations.

Angel’s research interests center on the provision of accessible, evidence-based treatments to youth and families. Her doctoral dissertation explored parent/caregiver experiences with their child’s school-based mental health therapy services, including the ways in which caregivers were involved in their child’s school-based therapy and the barriers caregivers faced to being involved. Angel is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
