Dr. Alison Manning (she/her) is a full-time licensed psychologist and the Director of Young Adult Programs at CBC. She conducts individual, family and group therapies with children, adolescents and adults, and leads the SAGE intensive DBT program for young adult growth and emergence. Alison brings compassion, spirit and warmth to her work, with a bright and collaborative style that carefully considers each individual’s unique background, culture and needs, as well as the latest research in behavioral health.

Alison has had intensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and has particular expertise in evidence-based treatments for anxiety and related disorders, OCD, trauma, depression, suicidality, and self-injury. She also provides specialized treatments including Exposure and Response Prevention (EX/RP) for OCD and anxiety disorders, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure therapy (PE), and DBT-PE for PTSD. She also regularly incorporates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her work.

Alison earned her doctor of psychology degree in clinical psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare in Newark, New Jersey, where she received extensive training in the treatment of childhood trauma, mood and anxiety disorders and worked with a diverse population of children, adolescents, young adults, and parents. She also conducted psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, provided adult psychiatric consultation services within the Rutgers University medical hospital, performed acute risk assessments, and worked with schools and agencies across the New Jersey area to ensure holistic, integrated care. Prior to her internship, Alison trained at Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Westchester and a local community mental health clinic in the Bronx. Before graduate school, Alison also provided school-based and in-home behavior therapy for children with autism. During graduate school, Alison studied with CBC co-founder Dr. Lata McGinn, and her research focused on the understanding, treatment and prevention of anxiety and depressive disorders, specifically social anxiety disorder.

When not at work, Alison is most likely found outdoors, running, hiking, playing soccer, or exploring the world through her camera lens.
